Part Reviews

CPU

Huge intel scandal going on right now, and I am not impressed. Also they released the 8th gen so early. However, I can run most games on 1080p ultra, over 100 fps

Case

Cable management is pretty difficult.

Wireless Network Adapter

Sometimes it disconnects. But still good for my gaming needs, and I barely loose any speed

Case Fan

Love these fans, but some times the software junks out, and the fans are not in pwm mode anymore. So I either I get the fans spinning to fast for no reason, or to slow (which is not good when gaming). I have to monitor it to make sure they are working when gaming.

Custom

Pretty good, although two of the caps, hiding the nuts and bolts were broke. However, I don't mind since they cant even bee seen and are just aesthetics.

Yeah, Its the only monitor I found out there that matches my dell, and has a a pretty decent price

Nice build. I'm doing a similar color scheme with purple and green. A joker theme. I think the two colors look very good together.

haha Nice, That's exactly what I am going for, however, after taking my pictures I realized later it came out more pinkish than purple :/. But in real life the setup is purple and green! I'll try to update the pics this weekend if I can!

Its probably overlooked that there is a really good balance of carbon fiber. Usually there is not enough or just too much, this is perfect. Good stuff.

Hows the GPU temps, I really want to sell my card atm to put in a reference style cooler 1080

  • 1 point

Temps are pretty good. I run games at 100-144 fps, with two monitors and get 80 Celsius. While on light task (i.e google) i'll get around 42-45 Celsius. However, If I was just running my 1080p 60hz monitor, and not the 144hz moniter, I would get 30-32 Celsius

How’s the color accuracy and contrast on the monitor? Should I get it instead of the Samsung edition?

  • 1 point

colour accuracy is very good at 110% sRGB. Contrast levels are good and, there are many settings to change that with other colour options.

  • 1 point

Is that 110% adobe sRGB or regular sRGB?

  • 1 point

fun fact, there is no such thing as adobe (s)RGB. Its adobe rgb. You can easily find the monitor and all the details online

Hey man, beautiful build. On your InWin 301 case, all those carbon fiber looking bits, did you add them yourself with like vinyl or label backing? If so any advice or short description on how to or where you got them from? Looks nice.

  • 1 point

Hey, Thanks! I simply went to amazon and bought a roll of 3D Carbon Fiber Wrap vinyl and stuck it on my pc, as simple as that. You can buy it on ebay also and they come in different effects (4D,5D etc)

this is the exact one I bought https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01L1WYJ8E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Very nice build! Did you have to get an adapter for that MSI monitor? I'm looking to get that same monitor with a vesa stand for myself

  • 2 points

Thanks! For the MSI monitor you do not need a vesa adapter for it. The vesa adapter is needed for my dell. However the only MSI monitor that needs a vesa adapter is their GEN 1 model which is MSI G24C

Are you still using the same monitor? If so, how do you like it?

Yup still using both of these monitors. Love the Msi, great value pick for a 144hz, and g-sync compatibility runs fairly well on it. Convinced my sibling who got two and another friend who picked it up on sale.
