This computer was built using parts I had either sporadically bought and assembled to create a nice budget gaming PC. It all came together under $250, as I had received the case for free, and I had gotten great deals on the mobo and cpu. This is a Team Red build (Yay AMD) so it runs very warm and the GPU likes to roar under load. The cables are not neat, as there is no room to put them anywhere, and the PSU has stiff cables.

Speaking of the GPU, PowerColor does not publicly market it, and does not have it on their own website. What I have found is that it is an under-clocked chip, most likely due to it overheating. They sold it for at least $40 less than the publicly advertised one, but sold this with 2GB more of GDDR5 VRAM. Very sketchy. It climbs up to 90C easy in this poorly ventilated case at a base clock of 860mHz, which is awful.

The CPU is excellent for being 9 years old, especially combined with the motherboard. The 880GMA-E35 features OC Genie, and supports overclocking of the RAM and CPU. WOW! I have successfully overclocked the ram to 1800mHz, and the Athlon 645 to 3.33gHz. The cooler does an okay job especially with the OC. It still runs hot, even with me adding an extra fan onto it. Its max temp is 70C, but it still allows it to run over that, which scares me.

All in all, it really impresses me with what I have at the price I got it all for. I think AMD is Team Red because their parts run so hot, but I digress. It looks cool with the multi-color fan, and would surprise friends with the fact it looks weak on the outside. I love sleepers, and hopefully you do too. Let me know by up-voting this build, and leaving a comment down below. Thank you all so much!

Part Reviews

Performs tasks very well, and runs great. It also runs so damn hot. Allows itself to overheat a little bit, which is scary. Get yourself an AIO or a beefy air cooler to deal with it properly.

CPU Cooler

Looks great, runs quietly, and is super cheap! Installation is a pain in the *** if you can't get easy access to the back of your mobo, but not worth taking off a star.

Amazing little motherboard. AM3, 4 DIMM slots | Supports 16GB of RAM, and comes with many overclocking features. Bought used for $27.50, cannot complain at all.

Excellent budget RAM. Easily overclock-able. I got it up to 1800mHz, and it runs just fine under load.

Great if you really need the storage. Very crap buffer size, so expect long start-up times, and multi-tasking can get to be a pain very quickly.

Power Supply

Excellent PSU for the price I got it for ($30). Has two 6-pin PCIE connectors, so you can supply plenty of juice for your graphics card. Non-modular, so expect a mess of cables in your PC.

Case Fan

Very fun, runs quietly, great price.

Looks adorable! I would put more ram, but if it works for you, then fine!

I would too, but I have a much better PC I use. This one will be one that I will sell most likely, or allow my guests to use. Look @ Artyohm on my Completed Builds for the one that I am using. ^

Great sleeper build. Those cables must've been made in the skittles factory. +1

Thank you so much! They are such a mess, aren't they haha.

It gives it a great "sleeper feel" though. Rainbow cables and the apevia fan give it that unicorn puke appearance. Even after all that it's still a interesting build because of just how odd it really is.

True haha, I built a PC for probably less than half of the cost of a desktop at Walmart and it probably runs stronger too. That's why I love Sleepers.

They truly are an art in the pc world.

Oh yeah, you already know. At 100% Fan Speed and still 93C :D

+1, I love seeing ultra budget builds. What can it play?

PeekOfGaming submitter 5 Builds 2 points 13 months ago

It can technically run just about anything, but games like The Forest and Killing Floor will provide great frame rates at Medium-ish settings.

Edit: At 1920 x 1080 Resolution.

+1 for still throwing in some RGB into a POS build like this hahaha :)

Did your fan stays with all colors at once? or are they rotating?

May you choose the color of the light? :)
