Part Reviews

CPU

Little pricey, but a beast of a CPU.

CPU Cooler

My temps never go above 70 with this thing. Kind of ugly looking, but it gets the job done in an excellent and quiet manner.

Thermal Compound

Works well. Haven't had to replace it just yet (5 months since first applied).

Motherboard

Boy, does this thing come with some Bells and Whistles. Auto Overclocking was a breeze, setup was easy.

Storage

SUPER FAST SSD that i use for my OS, and some games and programs.

Storage

Large storage for a cheap price. I store most of my programs here, and no complaints about the load times.

Video Card

Pricey, but a beast of a card. Overclocked to 1837 and this thing demolishes any title i throw at it with settings cranked to the roof!

Case

This case is nice for a beginner such as myself, (2 Builds down with their S340 lineup). Cable management is nice, LED lighting is a nice touch, and everything fits nice and comfy in the back.

Power Supply

Beastly PSU, haven't had any issues with it yet.

Monitor

Nice upgrade from a 1080p 180hz monitor (ASUS ROG SWIFT PG248Q). I can settle with 144hz.

Monitor

The newer model with a higher refresh rate and a slightly lower price? Count me in.

Keyboard

Decent Mechanical Keyboard (MX Cherry Blues) for the price.

Mouse

My first gaming mouse. The mouse is a little larger than what i have been used to. The lighting effects are kind of boring. But overall its a great mouse.

Headphones

Comfy headset, does a good job of cancelling-outside noise. I did have some trouble hearing through one of the ear muffs, but i fixed it by unplugging the cord from the back of my mobo and plugging it back in 2/3's of the way. Only downside is that it messes up my hair!

Speakers

Cheap Speakers that sound alright!

Other

Cheap strip that can be used to add back light to your monitor. Mine falls off all of the time, but other than that, it is what i expected for <$20.

MY GOD Those poor... poor... cables... they are all naked, out in the open, scared and looking for shelter. 1+ to help those cables find a new home.

PigWithAMustache 2 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

That made me want to get to work on cable management even more... now that I know that cables have feelings...

Sockens 2 points 26 months ago

Thank God my cables are in the shelter of an NZXT 530 with two flaming hot RX 480's

Yes, cable abuse is one of the biggest problems nerdkind face...

pics of the interior?

RhettRO55 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Or just some non-potato pics in general would be nice. This build has a grand list of hardware, lets see it!

TioJorge 6 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

I swear there is a correlation between the higher the price the build and set-up, the lower quality and amount of pics.

Not to knock this. Awesome rig. And my pics aren't great. But it is funny.

RhettRO55 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Not always the case, but yes more times than not. Usually we only see the super high end ones with a lot of attention to photos as featured so they get a spotlight shining on them instead of digging through the normal submissions.

All he can afford is a potato! He obviously spent all his money on Beats

Thanks for the suggestions. I will keep those in mind and might even get to work this weekend on fixing up some stuff.

How are the clearances with your cpu fan?

zulumidnight submitter 2 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Its tight. I would like to put both of the fans on the heatsink, but i think it would be a little tight for the ram.

Blue51 1 point 23 months ago

how good is the mic quality

paradoxmatthew 0 points 24 months ago

X99 with 16GB of RAM? Come on up it to 32 at least

BFJ_Tech -2 points 26 months ago

Overkill build, but you really need to work on those cables.
