Description

hat can i say about this build it was my first and love it. this new inwin 301 case is just a work of art and with the parts i picked they fit just perfect. still have to work on some cable management but other then that no problems at all. now just need a back cover and that will be it for now.

so one week into my build and everything is going good so starting to do some more benchmarks i was a little worried with thermals since the case is a little cramp with everything i stuffed in it :) but 30 minutes into aida 64. and the CPU temps are steady 65.5c or 150f for we state people lol. and no thermal throttling . i will keep you posted on more so i did a 5 hr stress test and temp stay solid at 65.5c with no throttle so happy with that. i cleaned up the cable management looks much better.

Also if you plan on running a samsung 960 evo MAKE SURE TO UPDATE BIos

Much cleaner and better looking pics to come this weekend

So i ran out of storage so i decided to get a WD black 3tb. So with i decided to take the whole system apart and do some proper cable management. Well a ay later i still didnt put it back together these cables are driving me crazy there is room. Its just with corsair node system I have LED and fan cables and fan led cables coming from everywhere. And also i still waiting to get the proper whiter 24 pin connector. And also the IC diamond therma compound left a residue on the copper bottom of my cpu cooler. Not completely sure why that happened

If you want any particular pictures let me know not going to put back together until i get my white 24 pin connector

Also at some point before the year ends i plan on a 2.0 in this case. I plan i Gettinging a 1080 and doing a custom waterloop with white liquid inside. So i might have to get a mini itx board we will see though not in a total rush yet

Update so i upgraded my Gpu to a evga 1080 SC which so far im loving. and just bought my self to two dell 27 inch 2k g-sync monitors and omg i cant not go back to 1080

That looks really amazing. I was considering getting the 301 myself but wasn't so sure how the cooling situation. Is it good or does it run slightly hotter than usual?

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 2 points 23 months ago

thanks i am actually starting to do the testing now i will let you know but fist i have to do some cable management in the back lol

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 3 points 23 months ago

the Corsair rgb are a little loud but normally have soft music playing so barely notice while idle it runs at 35c under full load it goes to 65c on cpu stressed test with Aida 64 for 5 hrs and gpu gets to 64c and there was no throttling what so ever.

Deemun 1 point 23 months ago

That's pretty good considering I have my CPU at stock speeds and that I won't be running anything intensive other than probably BF1. Good to know, thank you very much.

Melson 3 points 21 months ago

This is the first build that I've seen where the fans are correctly placed at the bottom to keep a better airflow. I've seen builds without it resulting high temps.

Thanks, I really wanted to see a build like this :D

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

thank you this is my very first build still working on some things but its a great rig so far

Lyrix 2 points 23 months ago

looks great! 1+!

iPxn3z 2 points 23 months ago

Really clean, maybe go for a custom backplate on that GPU ?

+1

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

yes i plain on getting one for the gpu an and the ssd which you cant really see just my ocd

arom 2 points 23 months ago

Really nice, but no backplate on that GPU kills the vibe. Maybe a custom backplate?

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

i know when i got itand i saw it had none i was bummed already on the hunt for a nice one

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

I posted a pick of the backplate that i got.

mgfmcfc 2 points 23 months ago

I would personally (and plan to at some point) have used an MSI quicksilver (also a 1070)

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

ughhhh i don't like you lol. i was searching for all white cards didn't even see that. what kept popping up was the galax hof. well i guess i am looking for a buyer for this gpu thanks for the info

mgfmcfc 1 point 23 months ago

Hehhehehhehehehheheeee

Ken_Chang 2 points 22 months ago

Looks gorgeous, Great job!! Do you have any difficulty mounting the bottom fans?

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

sorry for the slow response been working OT. but actually no it was really iseasy to install the bottom fans. On my mobo there are fan headers and just installed the gpu last . this friday i will take much better pictures because i have to take totally apart i have to reinstall my mobo lol i did not totally line it up with the shield IO

Ken_Chang 1 point 22 months ago

Thanks for your respond mate,i was thinking to get this case for my MATX build but some review states that it is hard to mount the bottom fans, i guess i have my answer now. i will stay tune for your update on the pictures this Friday :D. Cheers!!

krapphlat 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

I love how you recycled the fans from Deepcool - CAPTAIN 240EX WHITE AIO for the bottom, but they're less effective on the bottom pulling air out at the case, might get better temps if you reverse them to pull the ambient air into the case?

I use the same CPU AIO cooler in my own Project Winter War so far so good, and it doesn't get nearly as much credit for just how easy it is to install.

Hope you add more pics!

Dmolitor 3 Builds 3 points 23 months ago

If you mean the fans on the bottom of his case, they are pulling air in :) they are sticker side up which is intaking air the front 2 fans and rear are pushing air out. So it's a push pull basically

krapphlat 1 Build 3 points 23 months ago

You're absolutely right, I apologise for my error, they are of course as you say they are. Nice job.

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

lol you had me double checking my fans lol i was like they are pulling air in but thanks fo the tip

Dmolitor 3 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

No need to apologize! Just didn't want him running frantically haha.

bradgnoyes 2 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

Looks good! I just finished a white build myself and I'm feeling jealous of that cooler/fans.

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

yup took a gamble and love it

opgYTgmr 1 point 23 months ago

Why didn't you buy a z270

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

want a small matx and really like msi and wanted light color and all my first ever build so not going to overclock yet was going to get the msi z270

ashonk33 1 point 23 months ago

damn

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 23 months ago

damn as in good ? lol

ashonk33 1 point 21 months ago

Hey, great job, very neat and tidy! I'm actually considering getting the CAPTAIN 240EX, the HD120's and the Node Pro. What are you thoughts so far? Thanks.

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

The cpu cooler is greatbtge temps i put down in the description. The node pro i do love it just remeber the fans dont come with the node only the led strips come with it. Also i believe corsair just annouced a new node pro system.

http://www.corsair.com/en-us/landing/commander

LBrown 4 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

Thanks. It looks like the Commander Mini/Pro is nice but doesn't come with LED strips. But once you get an LED strip kit and some HD fans, the Commander does a good job managing everything via Corsair Link. It also includes thermistor sensors and additional USB headers. Decisions, decisions... Thanks again.

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

Yup i was little upset since i bought it then came out with the pro i really cam care less about thebthe strips there but i like the fans better

obelisk619 1 point 22 months ago

Hey man, just wondering, will the 240 AIO rad fit at the bottom? I can see some clearance but not too sure if it will fit, and just to confirm, is the rad on your aio that thinnest one? I'm considering a similar build (only black and red themed) and I don't like the rad on the side since there's little to no intake, since the intake is at the bottom, I'm thinking I should put the rad there drawing air in.

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 22 months ago

i guess you could but it probably choke your gpu if you mount rad on bottom get one as for air flow you are incorrect the case is raised on feet and it small so its on my desk and get tons of air that my 1070 fans barely spin

sologar 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Beautiful build. I'm planning to change my case for this inwin 301. How's the airflow regarding the bottom fans. And the gpu fans?

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

oh the bottom fans were great plenty of airflow since and my Gpu bareley ever spins

thelegitbroker 1 point 21 months ago

Hey man, great build! Though I'd like to ask a question if you don't mind. How's the usb 3.0 header fits on the bottom port with the fan installed? Is the fitting alright or does it bend too much?

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 2 points 21 months ago

I put that Picture up it does bend the cord but does not do any damage definetly designed to bend

thelegitbroker 1 point 20 months ago

Thank you! Your photos has been really helpful.

jrodjr13 submitter 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

um give me an hour to check lol and i will take a pic also

thelegitbroker 1 point 21 months ago

Thanks man!
