Update 1: Just finished finding a stable overclock (and validated) and ran it through all the benchmarks. I was able to get 4.6GHz (1.4875V) with this setup at very comfortable temperatures (45C idle, 61C load) Update 2: Switched out the R7 370 with an R9 380 which I got a good deal on. It's a good upgrade that will help with newer titles at 1080p high. Definitely a better fit for this build
This build is intended to be a "buttoned-up" work station that is constructed to be a value rig that doesn't break the bank but provides great performance, is dependable and is robust enough to handle 99% of office productivity tasks. Like every good suit it not only needs to be good for work but also be able to be deal with a little bit of play, hence why for this build an entry-level graphics card will be used to provide a more than acceptable casual gaming experience after-hours. This build is an AMD-based build in support for "Team Red," as I have already built an Intel Skylake and nVidia-based system for "Team Blue" and "Team Green." Let's get tailoring!
AMD FX-8320e - The FX family of processors has been around for a good long time, meaning that they have had a good long time to mature (like crazy mature). Each of the FX processors are essentially the same, but have different clock speeds and power requirements: the 8320e is one of the later versions of the FX processors, that has a lower TDP at 95W and has had its stock clock reduced when compared to its older cousins. The reason I picked this processor is because it provided one of the better price to performance value propositions than a lot of the other options out there. You get 8-Cores for great multitasking capability, is unlocked with a well-documented ability achieve massive overclocks with a aftermarket cooler, meaning that there is a good amount of performance that can be squeezed out of this $120 part.
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - Is there really any better value in an aftermarket cooler? Picked this one up because its so ubiquitous that they could be on a WalMart shelf next to the dairy section because everyone should have one and it can be used to keep anything cool.
ASRock 990FX Killer ATX AM3+ - I'm normally a Gigabyte guy, but during my search for a motherboard the value that ASRock provided for this platform was just too good to pass up. The build quality is excellent. The color scheme is standard for a performance oriented motherboard, but I like how the color accents aren't overdone, and are applied tastefully. Black almost glossy base color is very nice. Note: the FX-8320e and the ASRock 990FX Killer ATX AM3+ I was able to take advantage of a deal for both at $169.97 bundled Feb. 2016. An incredible deal. Thanks Microcenter!
G.Skill Trident X Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-2400 - I know that FX processors are only officially rated to 1866MHz memory speeds, but I wanted to get the faster sticks so that I would have room for RAM overclocks in the future. I'm a big fan of G.Skill products and have not been let down by their performance. Note: I ended up going with EVGA Superclocked 8GB DDR3-2400 (2x4GB) sticks because the day I went to shop for RAM those were the only ones available to and I just couldn't wait for sticks to be shipped to me before building. I got them for the same price as the G.Skills that I chose so it didn't change the budget. EVGA still a highly reputable brand, so I'm not expecting anything less performance and reliability wise when compared to the G.Skills.
2 x Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 240GB 2.5" SSD - 4 reasons I picked these guys: 1. They are highly affordable from a very reputable brand, 2. I have had a good history with them, so much so that I had an extra one sitting around in another build that I wasn't really using, 3. I don't need the fastest drive out there for my every day tasks, 4. The aesthetic of the labels on the drives fit with the color scheme of the build (Red & black)
Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 - Mid-level gaming card, overkill for office. I wanted a card that delivered good performance for the one game level that I will be able to complete during my 15 minute break during the course of the work day. It's an efficient, low-cost, great value card that packs a good punch when you just want to fit in a few minutes of decent gaming. 1080p high on most titles, may have to dial it down on newer titles.
NZXT S340 - This seems to be a super popular case and I wouldn't argue against that sentiment. It's a very clean, sleek and tidy case. Minimalist with a great exhibition window to show off all your internals (modest or not). Flexible enough for to accommodate most of the hardware you can find out there. Like a good suit, its discrete and will look good in most settings. Steel sheet construction, ummm yes please!
Corsair CX600M - A semi-modular power supply that provides good maneuverability and flexibility when it comes to building and future upgrades for most setups. A great budget option for builds that don't have top-of-the-line parts, though 80+ Bronze rating power supply from one of the premier brands means that this power supply should be more than adequate for any build.
Intel 7260 + Bluetooth - At work, for what I do, I didn't need the fastest wireless transfer speeds possible. Just something fast enough to handle the commercial internet speeds available to me (not Google Fiber, just that iffy-Charter stuff lol). It's an Intel card, so it's good. It's got bluetooth so I can connect bluetooth peripherals when I want to be a little more mobile and not have to deal with pesky wires. I can always just plug in a mechanical keyboard if I wanted to do some serious gaming, though again it's a workstation.
Well that's it: I present to you "The Suited". That's my perfectly crafted work suit of a rig. I hope you enjoyed my review of the parts and that you like the way the setup looks. I would write more if my fingers weren't so tired from the 3+ hours of cable managing that I had to do for this build (the most important part of any build lol). Great multitasking value on a budget. Extreme overclockability.
The cooler for everyone. Almost ubiquitous enough to be in the dairy section of WalMart. Could probably keep your milk refrigerated too.
ASRock has some tasteful design elements with this one. Quality components and great build from the "other" Taiwanese component maker.
G.Skill has another winner. Highly compatible, super performance and tasteful design.

Sleek, stealth, clean look. Versatile design and accommodation for almost all parts that you would want in y our rig. Very easy to work with, a lot of room for flexible cable management.
80+ Bronze power supply from Corsair. It's gonna be a dependable and is a great entry-level to mid-range option for almost any build out there. If you're running close to to 600W of power consumption you're going to want a higher rating supply but anything build that is going to run 475W and bellow, this is going to be great for you for a long time.
Wireless Network Adapter
Upper-mainstream Wi-Fi card + bluetooth. If you just need good internet then this is the card for you. Bluetooth connectivity is a big plus. You won't need to worry about getting a separate USB bluetooth adapter if you want to connect other bluetooth peripherals.
