I use her heavily for gaming, productivity, music production, as well as image editing in Photoshop and Illustrator. The 9600k is OC'd to 4.9GHz.

Dude put the gpu on the top pcix16 slot and not the pcix8 slot because the top slot has more bandwidth than the bottom slot, you could double your frames in games by putting it on the top slot.

Not at all how that works. At most, he would get 1-2% higher framerate from the bandwidth increase. Any real performance gains he gets will be from improvements in thermals, which determines clockspeed.

No he really should put it in the x16 slot that is wasted potential. Surprised it even works in the x8 slot.

x8 has enough bandwidth for a GPU. If it didn't far fewer people would run SLI configurations. Mainstream Intel platforms only have 16 PCI-E lanes with a direct connection to the CPU, which means that two GPU's will get 8 lanes each. Same goes for AMD, although I think X470 has an extra four lanes dedicated to NVME devices though that may require a 2nd gen Ryzen CPU. He should definitely move it to the top slot, just not for bandwidth reasons, unless that slot connects through the PCH, in which case there may be latency issues.
