Hi Ive wanted to do this for a while - please feel free to ask any questions
Why did you post the same build twice?
Was just about to ask the same thing
My mistake. I didn't realise it was awaiting moderation and posted again
more info in this pls.. this is soo cool
Thanks. Well you need to get an iMac g3 off eBay and open it and strip out the crt and put in a 15 inch lcd. You need to cut out the original motherboard mounts and put new ones in. An itx motherboard and mini atx psu fits
I got a new slot loading sata optical drive. I used a power/reset cable which is currently dangling out of the side of the case and usb extension hub as well
That's... different... I like it!
Very cool but, I'd love to see more pics, very interested but, feel a bit like there's something missing because I want to see more of this.
You know what you could do, get a like junk but working display from somewhere around the same dimension of the case opening, take off everything but the screen and connectors in the back and put it where you would like.
For pictures please!
I added another picture thanks for the interest
Whats going to happen the to CRT D:
You got to take it to the dump. They have a section for crts
My and myself thought the pc was the screensaver
I like it!
But that's a lot of... tape! we want more pics of the finished product :)
That's coming. It's one step forward and one back at moment. I had to change cpu cooler to allow room for lcd screen and it's pcb boards.
you reckon one could fit a budget ryzen 3 build with a gtx 1050ti in such a machine? Might change my case into something as crative as yours. Always had a fondness for old Macintosh systems
Yes as long as you use mini itx motherboard. I also used micro atx psu. This 300w one from Amazon was a good buy and powers my 750ti well. CiT 300W Micro Atx Power Supply https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00649YIRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_x9n5zbP316KZR
I has to get a molex to 6 pin adapter but I don't think you'll need one for 1050ti if it works off pci.
I had to take out the cpu cooler and use stock cooler to allow room for monitor.
this is one hell of a PC, but I'm going to warn you as I warn a lot of people- that build is really cool, and I want it to last, so for the love of god please replace the PSU. The build is amazing but could def use some improvements
I, for one, need more information. Why an old Mac case?
Just for fun. I always wanted one but couldn't afford one when they came out.
