Description

Original build which I no long have, all parts other than the HDD and DD have been replaced.

I like the case but as you can see in the image, the front panel has some serious issues.. It falls off far too easily as well as the bays covers don't like to stay on.

When did you last have this setup? I'm sure it's not as good as what you upgraded to, but I'm wondering what it was like at gaming.

I had this setup around 3 years ago, it was a bit of a budget/starter build so it was basically meant to play lower-mid games. It was okay, I was able to play a good number of my games on medium to high settings, bigger ones either I couldn't play or had to be on lowest. Depending on the game and settings I could hit anywhere between 30-120 frames but honestly the GPU was already reaching it's out of date point by the time I got the build so a number of the newer games couldn't be run too well if at all.

It lasted me about 1 year(If my memory is correct) before I got fed up with not being able to play some games too well such as Ark: Survival Evolved, pretty sure there were some others as well but can't recall at the moment.

I'm surprised you had trouble playing with the GTX 660, spec-wise it's nearly identical to the HD7850 that my son had up until last year (the 660 had more VRAM but benchmarks were on par). He was playing everything on it with no problem, up to Fallout 4 on med/high settings and Crysis 3 on high settings, all at 1080p with good framerates.

I also played Ark and let me tell you, that game was a stuttery mess for me and my GTX970 as well. I haven't played it in a year, but it was very poorly optimized at that time.

May I ask, what did you upgrade to when you got rid of this build?

Whaaa no way! I wonder what my problem was then, bigger games like that barely ran for me even with a clean install.

I upgraded to a GTX 980 Ti, things have been pretty much perfect ever since, just I like to load too much junk on my machines. My current build can always be found here -https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Kokoro_Neko/saved/#view=JKXWGX I update it everytime I get a new part.

As for Ark, well it ran far better on the new card but yeah they still have a lot of optimization to do and memory leaks to fix, game is a mess but still fun at times at least
