Intel cores have it built into the CPU. No messing with hardware or software. Hyperthreading is part of the i3 and i7 series of CPUs. No tinkering.

2 physical cores, about 1.5 - 2 threads per core depending on clocking and operation. As he said, nothing on your end to configure, automatic. i7 is 4 cores with the same so effectively 8 cores to Windows.
