If ram is not on the qvl list for your mobo does that mean it absolutely will not work. Totally forgot to check for my upcoming build and bought and received already.....for a ryzen build on msi b350 tomahawk

G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel Z170 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-16GVGB

No the QVL list is just a selection of kits the board manufacture managed to test. There are 1000's of kits in various combinations so for obvious reasons not all will be tested.

For Ryzen 3200 MHz is the upper sort of limit, but the CPU also plays a role as that is where the memory controller resides and is affected by Silicon Lottery, the sticks may work but no guarantee. If your not into manually fine tweaking, drop the frequency down to 2933 MHz (next lowest ratio) to get things working if you find 3200 MHz does not work.
