Does the Windows 10 free upgrade for Windows 7 keys still work?

See title.

I'm building my new computer next week. I am wondering if I can transfer the Win 7 key from my current computer over to my new one, and then subsequently upgrade it to Windows 10 for free.

As pegotico said, it should work. Best thing to do is try and see if it does. If it dosn't you are not out anything.

Seems to be an OEM. This wasn't a prebuilt machine, but it was likely the license was purchased on the cheap. Damn.

Oh well. I'll figure something out.

This is true, but Microsoft has been very lazed about Windows Keys, and even some OEM keys are working on new builds.

As you said, try and hope for the best.
