As the topic says.. would I be able to overclock an i9-9900K with a NH-U14S and still have decents temps? The case would be a MasterCase H500 if thats helps. Thanks

Sure, up to a point. You can probably get most of the overclocking potential out of the chip with that cooler. Of course, it depends on your particular CPU sample.

Thanks for your response. I'm hoping for atleast 4.6 - 4.9 if it can still be kept in the 70s during gaming and rendering. Is that wishful thinking?

Well the max single core turbo is 5.0 GHz on stock settings but I think 5.0 all core may possibly be doable depending on silicon lotto for voltages.

I'd say the average sample should manage that. As Tetsuclaw suggested, though, whether your sample will do it can only be known by trying it.

Thanks for the responses guys. I am actually ordering the pc from pcspecialist and they have said that the overclock to 4.9 with said noctua cooler should be ok depending on silicone lottery also. So hopefully I can get that 4.9 without being toasty.
