80+ Gold, fan only comes on with a high load (have heard it spin up twice), modular (great for a mITX build, long warranty, and the right colour for the build.
Great PSU, well engineered, made of quality components.
Nicely made and even fairly good looking, not that it's going to be seen!
The 140mm fan (when it comes on) makes for relatively silent cooling. The very open back, large fan opening and relatively uncluttered internal layout make for good enough cooling that the fan is usually off when used in "eco" mode.
Cables are nicely made, sleeved in fabric and are included in sufficient quantities and variants for just about any need I can think of for a PSU in this power range.
Voltages are very stable and well within acceptable parameters.
Main rule when building a pc - always get a high quality psu. Did some research and this unit was highly rated all over the internet.
Great fully modular continuous power supply at a good price. EVGA gives you more than enough cables and velcro straps to make cable management a breeze. This PSU scored a perfect 10 from JonnyGuru (http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&file=print&reid=440). It also comes with an 8 + 6 pin cable for connecting those modern graphics cards (no need to run multiple cables or fiddle with adapters).
Tier 1 PSU that doesn't break the bank to badly. This is a really good PSU! :]
My go-to PSU in this load range. Fully modular and dead quiet at low/idle draw. Even when the fan kicks in, remains pretty quiet.
Whisper quiet, even when the fan is running. Have to hold my hand to the exhaust to tell the fan is even on.
My computer hasn't exploded yet.
Wanted a good reliable modular PSU. Cables look great all black sleeves.
