I would agree that using less fans is going to help reducing dust. The only dust filter that works is the bottom one. You should definitely consider installing a fan under the gpu to help cool it and bottom filter is super easy to clean. DO NOT install a fan on front panel as the filter provided is TRASH. Try getting a demcifilter for the PSU which I highly recommend using a SFX.

You think that would be enough to cool the components and minimise dust build up?

As long as you have at least one fan on bottom cooling gpu, I think it can be fine.

sigh I was thinking of aio cooling the cpu

Only place you can mount the AIO is on side panel, unless you get a smaller 92mm AIO. My recommendation is to filter all fans set as intakes to reduce dust.

While you could use one of those 80mm delta fans with extremely high static pressure on front (because of location only gpu would benefit), my goal when I had the QBX was to have a silent build... As a matter of fact the only fan you could hear was the PSU. The reason I didn't a slim fan on side over the heatsink was because this case is a dust magnet. Even using filters from demcifilters, I had to constantly clean it. Still for the price I paid a great case IMHO.. :)

https://www.anandtech.com/show/13091/analyzing-b450-for-amd-ryzen-a-quick-look-at-all-the-motherboards/19

The only difference between the Mortar and Mortar Titanium is aesthetics.

Unlike the B450M Bazooka and Bazooka Plus models, the only differences between both the B450M Mortar models come in the aesthetics; the B450M Mortar Titanium has a classy silvery PCB and pairing of heatsinks which gives it a unique look.

Its definitely not going to work with his motherboard.

No, it's a laptop stick.

Not really.... SO-DIMM is mainly use for laptops, but there are other motherboards (thin mini itx and STX format) that use SO-DIMM ram.

Here is an example

Try downloading a trial of AIDA64 to test all your hardware..

https://www.aida64.com/downloads

Even though AIDA64 will check your ram, I would double check ram with memtest. This is the one I use.

This one is newer but I prefer the old one.

When I was researching both cases to make a decision, a deciding factor for me was the two 120 fan mounts over the gpu. Several ppl (rvz02)_had issues with gpu temps. I even found a guy that mounted three 80mm because the gpu was overheating...

The Node 202 is definitely a better built case so definitely go with the node 202.

On the other hand, I hear that the RVZ02 may have some trouble fitting the Nitro+ because of its height, but it looks easier to build in and doesn't have ventilation troubles.

The node 202 will let you install 2 fans on top of the gpu so I don't see a problem with overheating. Pretty sure gpu temps will be better than the RVZ02.

Im using the MSI GTX 1060 GAMING X+ 6G which is LARGE (277 x 140 x 39 mm ) with two Noctua NF-F12 and everything fits perfectly. My problem was with the width (140mm). When mounting the card to the gpu bracket I couldn't put the two screws, but still worked perfectly fine. Only issue with your card (260(L)X 135(W)X 43 (H) ) is using 15mm thick fans which you already have on your list.

I was told a 3pin case fan will still fit into a 4pin and it just won't fit in?

You are definitely doing something wrong because it fits. Like Kschendel posted, check your manual which will show you were all the fan headers are. Here is a picture with a 3pin fan connected to a 4 pin header

The cryorig m9i recommended is not compatible with LGA775. Just get a cheap cooler. Both of this will be better than the stock cooler.

Cryorig m9i, however you should be looking into upgrading your CPU/motherboard/RAM pretty soon as well.

Cryorig doesn't list the M9i as being compatible with LGA775

Not a good idea to recommend an older board which may need a bios update requiring a compatible cpu. He would need to get a boot kit from AMD or update at store. For someone with less experience its a hassle.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Just curious about this possible gaming build"

Its easy but if the motherboard doesn't have an updated bios (WHICH is very possible) you will need a compatible cpu which will just make things complicated for you. I recommend going with a B450 board which wont need a bios update.

Based on your requirements do you really need to upgrade? This is still a very nice build.

If you really need to upgrade and depending on requirements, you can upgrade your gpu or (motherboard and cpu). You might want a different case but your psu, ram, cooler are fine. Just my 2 cents.

If you're up to.... Download Microsoft tool which as of this moment is version 1809 (MediaCreationTool1809) and will create an installer with the latest version. Perform a clean installation of windows and see if that helps. You will need a usb drive at least 8gb IIRC. Not sure if a 4gb would work.

If its a driver issue I hope it gets resolve soon.

Just curious...... did you install a clean installation of windows version 1809 or did you update from an older version to 1809? Just asking as Ive had issues with drivers in the past which were created with a windows update and were resolved doing a clean installation. Not saying this is your issue.

Your motherboard was released in September which if there was an issue affecting everyone, you could find topics regarding this on google. Anyways I hope you find a solution to your problem! :)

Are you downloading latest driver from MSI page or Killernetwork page?

Drivers from MSI page are old (Sept. 28 2018).

Drivers from killernetwork page are recent (Jan 1 2019). Version 2.0.1134 would be the latest one available now.

https://www.killernetworking.com/killersupport/item/kcc-uwd

When I bought my Z170, I had many issues when I updated windows 10 to a newer version which were fixed later on by drivers. You're using latest version 1809 so that might be the problem. Killer releases drivers periodically. If you haven't done it, completely remove the drivers you have now and install the one from killernetwork page.
